• You have a solid design foundation in user-centered design and a portfolio of shipped products  
• You design to fulfill user needs and have contributed to the user experience of at least one web/mobile app that solves a complex task flow.  Responsive design a big plus.

These might include a peer-to-peer payment system, learning platform, online transactions?anything that typically requires many levels of critical thinking. I am a professor at a business school studying entrepreneurship. I am looking at the way in which the sunsetting of Google Reader is creating an opportunity for new ventures. Observing what pops up, and when, and what business models they follow, will be both interesting and help us answer some important questions about how new players enter the market and how markets are segmented.

So, I want to find an RA or two who would want to help me put together a list of companies/products in the RSS space, when they enter, what features they have, etc. and to track the space through the fall. We can go through details, but it will essentially be keeping up a spreadsheet on the subject. I would like to find people who care about the space, or about the products in it, and who are up to speed on the RSS world.

This would likely take a few hours a week, every week, through Fall. I have research funds available to pay at hourly rates (RA funds, so better than Starbucks, but not by that much), and I hope that I could also make the research useful and interesting for those interested in academia or, potentially, an MBA.

• Works closely with the quality assurance team to understand test requirements and translates them into automated functional tests
• Analyzes and documents functional test results
• Revises automated functional test scripts to reflect results and corrects errors or reports defects; retest as needed
• Proposes innovative test designs or alternative solutions to meet the technical requirements while ensuring that the automated functional test solution remains flexible and scalable
• Keeps abreast of new functional test technology developments, and introduces new frameworks, toolkits and architectures
• Independently manages work to ensure achievement of timelines
• Provides feedback to engineering and quality assurance teams on design decisions that have negative functional test implications
• Determines resource and time estimates required for appropriate testing

• Bachelor?s degree (Computer Science preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of quality assurance or professional software development experience
• Comfortable developing in dynamic languages (e.g. Groovy, Ruby, Python, etc.)
• Experience with Linux and OS X operating systems
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices, particularly object-oriented design concepts
• Proven experience and practical knowledge of agile software development methods
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in business and technical terms
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexible; able to adapt to changing priorities within a rapidly changing business environment
• Excellent follow-though and strong attention to detail
• Highly motivated; self starter
• Ability to maintain strong partnerships with peers and members of a cross-functional teams
• Strong collaboration skills and appreciation of standards

• Experience with automation test tools and methodologies
• Browser automation experience (e.g. Geb or Selenium)
