JWe are recruiting for file system engineers in Fremont, California and software engineers in Pittsburgh, PA.
In Fremont:
Two OSD File System Engineers in Fremont, CA who will participate in the design and development of object based network attached storage systems. Specific duties include: (i) overall file system module design, implementation and enhancements of existing software; (ii) resolving difficult technical software issues and fixing bugs; (iii) guiding and participating in test plan execution and completion; (iv) assisting in the debugging of device driver and system software issues; (v) assisting in the development of system integration and regression test plans for the file system kernel module and related infrastructure; (vi) determining requirements for the storage sub-system; (vii) participating in the Storage Networking Industry Association OSD standardization efforts; (viii) developing specifications for storage sub-system enhancements and assisting in writing driver and firmware requirements; and (ix) interfacing with disk drive vendors to understand roadmaps, find technologies that are required for performance improvement of storage sub-system of architecture and provide recommendations.
Job Requirements: Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field plus at least 5 years of experience in the position offered or any directly related position is required. Must also have experience with file system development focused on distributed storage technologies, UNIX kernel development and device driver development.
In Pittsburgh:
We are recruiting for software developers with extensive knowledge and/or experience working with systems level programming, distributed systems or fault tolerant systems. Prior storage experience preferred. Must also have knowledge of C/C++, multithreading and kernel level development (Linux or the FreeBSD kernel.) Additional responsibilities will include the full life cycle of product development from design, implementation through testing. The position works closely with others on the product development team, and each area of responsibility is often a collaboration process, so candidates need excellent communication skills.
Experience/Qualifications Preferred: Minimum of 2 years industry experience developing storage-related software products. Extensive knowledge of C/C++, kernel level development, multi-threading / parallel programming, distributed systems, and fault-tolerance techniques. Knowledge of network file systems protocols (NFS, CIFS, AFS) preferred. Knowledge of SAN & NAS storage paradigms a plus. Ability to work in teams. B.S. in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent experience M.S. preferred.
